The ION Wing/SUP Leash Core Coiled Hip is a leash designed for riders who want more freedom of movement and easier handling than classic ankle-mounted leashes. Hip mounting reduces the risk of tangling, improves comfort during maneuvers and keeps the leash away from your feet.

Characteristics

The leash is mounted to a hip belt, so the board stays further away from the rider, and the leash itself doesn't get in the way during starts, turns and pumping. This solution is especially valued in wingfoiling and SUP, where freedom of movement on deck matters a lot.
A 7mm-thick coiled urethane cord provides the right durability and elasticity for everyday riding, wave riding and recreational SUP. The construction isn't intended for big waves, but performs excellently in standard freeride and wave riding conditions.
Stainless steel swivels prevent the leash from twisting, and a fixed leash plug loop along with a stainless steel carabiner guarantee a secure, durable connection to the board. The hip belt itself is replaceable and available separately.
In practice, many riders prefer a hip leash precisely because it tangles less underfoot than classic ankle leashes. Wingfoil users often point to the waist coiled leash as the more comfortable choice for everyday riding.
