PERFORMACE ALL WAVE DESIGN

Description
The Quantex is a high-performance waveboard that excels in wind swells. As the name suggests, the Quantex lineage includes both the Quantum, the original Simmer Style wind swell wave board, and the Cortex, an innovative Simmer wave board with a short rail line designed specifically for performance riding in less than ideal conditions. The Quantex's rocker is derived from the original Cortex. Like the Simmer Flywave's rocker, it was developed based on the Peahi Kaia Katchadourian's special board. This means
a relatively low rocker in the midsection of the board combined with a constant-curve rocker in the tail. The main feature of this rocker is the high range of wave speeds. The rocker provides a stable platform in high-speed conditions in larger, more fragmented waves, and also provides the rider with a speed limit in slower onshore conditions.
The main challenge for downwind waveboards is to provide a tight turn in smaller waves and control larger waves, which in downwind areas means chop and high wind. In the Quantex board, the mechanism for solving this problem lies in its outline. By fitting a relatively low-curvature central contour to a relatively short board, we have managed to combine high-speed stability with lower-speed agility. The slightly wider tail, which is finished in a jet tail style, or swallow
with cut corners, provides a great platform for quick gliding and transferring speed through the bottom gybe when the wind and waves are less propulsive.
The Quantex 109 has a slightly different rocker and contour that combines a slightly longer rail with a single concave rocker optimized
to handle heavier sailors and larger sails.
- One board for everything – incredibly easy and effective in demanding conditions, yet dynamic and aggressive
- The semi-short tail with beveled edges and a small central swallow cut provides a dynamic bottom turn and allows the board to maintain speed in tight turns, despite the fast rocker
- The vee-based rocker, with a low curvature in the middle and a constant curvature in the rear section, offers great performance in a wide range of wave speeds
- Progressive double concave that absorbs bumps and stabilizes the back of the board.
- Five fin boxes give Quantex a unique ability to adjust the setup – as a quad, thruster or twin
- Low mid-vee allows you to maintain speed through flatter wave sections
- Updated pads with dual-density foam, thermo-embossed pattern for better grip, and tail kick
on 75 L
Special features:
- Compact design stern
Milled structure tail allows the board to make faster turns during rail-to-rail maneuvers. The Quantex has a longer, wider tail needed to ride flatter sections of the wave while maintaining speed and agility. - Profile
Effective rocker with a progressive Vee and a low-drag center section for quick planing and speed
in gentler waves. The double concavity allows the water stream to follow the stern, absorbing impacts and creating propulsion towards the fin, ensuring neat turns in all conditions. - Dual density EVA footpads
Dual density EVA footpads, 4MM high density top layer with diamond grip + hot stamped dots for excellent grip. The new pads feature a soft 8mm heel protector for maximum riding comfort and a kick in the tail. - Parallel contour
The parallel contour tapering towards the tail under the feet provides plenty of lift during fast gliding, plenty of pop during aerials and jumps. Quantex easily adjusts to different turning angles. At maximum rearward tilt, the inner rear section provides grip in upper turns and extra torque in tight lower turns. - Dual-screw strap inserts
Dual strap inserts provide maximum lift and adjustable position settings for tight or personal preference up to 14.5cm or 15.5cm for the front straps or 14cm or 15cm wide for the rear strap on foot. - GORETEX © AIRVENT Self-Adjusting Vent
Flywave comes standard with a self-adjusting Goretex © vent that allows air to flow between the foam core and the exterior of the board while remaining completely waterproof. A double-layer Goretex membrane on both sides of the rubber O-ring prevents pressure build-up inside the board, minimizing the risk of delamination caused by overpressure inside the board, even during flight. You will never have to unscrew the bleed screw again. - Standard Fin Configuration // TRI
The tri fin configuration provides quick planing, easy tacking while providing an incredibly tight turning radius. In the wave, this configuration provides the best possible projection and power in turns, helping the sailor maintain speed in the lower turn, even in smaller waves. Versatility and speed with a user-friendly feel are the main features of this setup.
