The Simmer Style SX10 Wide boom is a professional, extremely stiff and light boom made from top-quality pre-preg carbon, which thanks to a new, wider tail end lets you maintain the optimal sail profile and better rig dynamics.

The new SX10 was designed to give the most direct, responsive and light rig feel achievable. As the key link connecting the rider to the rig, the boom plays a decisive role in overall on-water performance.

The SX10 is made from top-class pre-preg carbon, used both in the body and in the tail end. While many modern booms use pre-preg technology, what really sets the SX10 apart is the excellent quality of the carbon fiber and the precisely designed layer layup.

For an optimal strength-to-weight ratio, we used inner layers of uni-directional carbon along the boom's arms, creating an ultra-stiff skeleton. An outer layer of woven carbon fiber increases durability and impact resistance. This advanced "carbon sandwich" construction - similar to the construction of our boards - produces a boom that's incredibly stiff, light and durable.

Now with a wider tail end - more power and sail stability

The latest generation of the SX10 in the Wave and Freewave sizes has been fitted with a wider end fitting (tail end). This allows for a deeper sail profile without the risk of the battens resting against the boom's arms, which:

improves power transfer,
provides more efficient loose-leech (twist) performance,
contributes to ideal rig dynamics.

Whether you're fighting for a fast plane or sailing at full power, the wider tail end lets your rig "breathe" freely and work at maximum efficiency.

A wide boom tail end
A new, wider end fitting (tail end) in the Wave and Freewave sizes allows for a deeper sail profile without the boom's arms interfering with its shape, which: improves power transfer, provides more efficient loose-leech (twist) performance and contributes to ideal rig dynamics.
The Wave & Freewave booms are equipped with loop-to-loop rollers at the end fitting, allowing for fast and easy tacking and trimming of the sail. The Freerace boom has a pulley system with a 6:1 ratio, which allows for using an outhaul trim system while sailing
The Simmer boom head was designed for maximum grip on the mast. Its high-friction contact surface guarantees that the boom stays stably in place, even during hard landings. A solid line hook provides excellent stability, and the boom lever lets you easily achieve the correct tension and secure it in the right position.

All SX8 booms have an integrated shim, making them compatible with both SDM and RDM masts.
