The Simmer Style SX10 boom is a professional, extremely stiff and light boom made from top-quality pre-preg carbon, which lets you maintain the optimal sail profile and better rig dynamics.

Product description:

The SX10 boom was designed to give your rig the most direct, reactive and light feel possible. The boom is the link between the sailor and the rig, and it largely defines its performance. The SX10 is made from top-quality pre-preg carbon, used both in the body and in the tail end. Most modern carbon booms are pre-preg constructions, but what's key for performance is the quality of the carbon and how the layer layup is designed.

For an optimal strength-to-weight ratio, we use inner layers of uni-directional carbon along the boom's arms, creating an extremely stiff "spine". On the outside of the tubes we use a carbon fiber weave, to make the boom extremely strong. This layered (sandwich) technique is similar to the processes used in making our boards.

For maximum sailing comfort, the SX10 has a super thin grip. The tube diameter is matched to the discipline: 25 mm on the wave boom, 28.5 mm on the 180 slalom boom and 29.5 mm on the two larger slalom sizes. The outline was developed individually for each size, to support the best possible rig dynamics.

The tail end on the SX10 140 and 150 sizes is equipped with a loop system for fast and easy adjustment on the boom. On the 180, 200 and 220 sizes, the tail ends have an integrated roller trim system.

The Simmer head was designed for maximum grip on the mast. It has a high-friction contact surface, a solid line hook and a lever, which lets you easily achieve high tension while locking the boom in the right position.

OUTSIDE FITTED TAIL END
The SX10 models in the 200-250 and 220-270 sizes have an outside fitted tail end with an increased diameter. This makes these longer booms incredibly stiff and very light. This solution also allows for a wide adjustment range while maintaining full stiffness, even when the tail end is extended to its maximum.
DOUBLE PIN LOCK
For precise load distribution, all booms in the SX line are equipped with a double pin lock system. It provides a stiff connection between the boom body and the tail end, even at maximum extension.
BOOM HEAD
The Simmer boom head was designed for maximum grip strength on the mast. Thanks to a high-friction contact surface, the boom stays in place even during hard landings. A solid line hook provides excellent stability, and the boom lever lets you easily achieve the right tension while locking it in the desired position. On the SX10 140, 150 and 180 models the head comes with an RDM adapter included.
