The Simmer Style SX8 Wide is a high-performance monocoque pre-preg carbon boom that offers the key features of the SX10 model at a more accessible price, providing stiffness, durability and better rig dynamics thanks to a new, wider end fitting.

The SX8 is a high-end pre-preg carbon boom that offers many of the exceptional features of our flagship SX10 model at a more accessible price. Built from standard-grade pre-preg carbon, the SX8 has a fully carbon monocoque body along with a carbon rear section, providing stiffness, lightness and extreme durability while sailing.

Now with a wider tail end - more power and sail stability

The latest generation of the SX8 in the Wave and Freewave sizes has been fitted with a wider end fitting (tail end). This allows for a deeper sail profile without the risk of the battens resting against the boom's arms, which:

improves power transfer,
provides more efficient loose-leech (twist) performance,
contributes to ideal rig dynamics.

Whether you're fighting for an early plane or sailing at full power, the wider tail end lets your rig "breathe" freely and work at maximum efficiency.

Features:

A wide boom tail end
A new, wider end fitting (tail end) in the Wave and Freewave sizes allows for a deeper sail profile without the boom's arms interfering with its shape, which: improves power transfer, provides more efficient loose-leech (twist) performance and contributes to ideal rig dynamics.
The Wave & Freewave booms are equipped with loop-to-loop rollers at the end fitting, allowing for fast and easy tacking and trimming of the sail. The Freerace boom has a pulley system with a 6:1 ratio, which allows for using an outhaul trim system while sailing
The Simmer boom head was designed for maximum grip on the mast. Its high-friction contact surface guarantees that the boom stays securely in place, even during hard landings. A solid line hook provides excellent stability, and the boom lever lets you easily achieve the correct tension and secure it in the right position.

All SX8 booms have an integrated shim, making them compatible with both SDM and RDM masts.
