Thanks to the design collaboration between Damien Girardin and Ralf Groesel, the SUPERMODEL 2025 has undergone significant changes in shape, bridle system and construction technology, to deliver the best performance in the all-round kite segment. It's easier and more intuitive to fly than ever before, thanks to lighter bar pressure and a faster response. The lighter feel makes the kite easier to control in strong wind, opening up new possibilities for jumps. The new pulley-free bridle system has been fine-tuned to throw you even higher, providing an effortless hang time, while also allowing more effective depowering of the kite across the whole range, giving greater control. New trailing edge reinforcements reduce drag during turns, and the combination of weight savings and HTF3 technology means the SUPERMODEL 2025 loops much faster. The power and grip are so smooth and predictable that both loop beginners and advanced riders performing technical kiteloop variations will feel more confident and motivated to raise their skills.

For those who don't know the SUPERMODEL yet, how would you describe this kite?

The SUPERMODEL is designed to become an extension of your body. No matter what board you're riding, what conditions you're in, or what skill level you have, THE SUPERMODEL HANDLES IT ALL. We tested it in literally every possible condition and discipline for many years, refining it to the point where it became so versatile and intuitive that it works for everyone.

So how could it be improved any further?

The biggest change this year is that I started collaborating with Ralf on the HYPERMODEL. Last year I thought the kite had already reached its maximum level, but the capabilities we developed together for the HYPER were successfully implemented into this year's SUPERMODEL, which significantly raised its performance and ease of use.

What will be the most noticeable in these changes?

One of the things people will immediately notice is that the kite has become much smoother, more comfortable, and therefore easier to handle. Increased depower on the bar movement makes it easier to control, and also allows for better edge-holding right before a jump, which raises the whole riding experience.

What is the main reason for these changes?

One of the key reasons is switching to a pulley-free bridle system (a fixed bridle system). We changed the entire bridle geometry and moved the attachment point, which helps the kite pick up speed quickly. Another factor is adding fiberglass-reinforced ribs in the trailing edge. This reduces flutter and significantly improves smoothness through turns, which means the grip after a kiteloop is now much better than before.

Great! What other changes were made?

We also increased the amount of FLEXLITE material in the Leading Edge, which became possible thanks to the updated bridle system. Now the bridles better maintain the kite's shape, which allows FLEXLITE material to be placed in a higher segment, providing more turning and better kite control. This means the SUPERMODEL 2025 is sturdier and responds better to bar movements.

The SUPERMODEL 2025 also seems lighter on the bar, right?

Yes, that's true. Several factors contribute to this. One of them is that the fixed bridle system gives the kite a lighter and more direct feel. We also moved the pigtail connections back by 2 cm, which increases leverage during steering. Less pressure on the bar also contributes to a smoother riding feel.
