Parawing North Ranger 2026
2.2 - 3.2 - 4.2 - 5.2
The North Ranger Parawing 2026 is a compact, single-skin parawing with a very short bridle attachment, which thanks to D-Rib technology and a depower tab delivers impressive power from a small surface area, folds down easily and packs into a light backpack for paddle-free downwind foiling, and also works as an emergency backup for wing foiling or e-foiling
Parawing - Downwind

Product description:
The Ranger Parawing is a single-skin kite with very short support lines (bridles), designed to help you get up on the foil using the wind, after which it can be easily packed away so you can keep foiling hands-free, powered by wave energy. It gives you complete freedom to surf swell - without a paddle, an inflatable wing or a classic kite - anywhere: on a lake, in a harbor, on the ocean or even on land.
If you fall off the foil, just pull your Ranger back out and keep going.
The Ranger exclusively uses North's patented D-Rib system, which diagonally supports the kite's canopy, providing optimal load distribution and reducing the number of lines needed. This keeps the kite stable even during depower, while remaining very responsive and reacting to subtle steering movements.
Another industry first is the Depower Tab - a special strap placed in an easily accessible spot halfway along the neon-yellow LE support line. It acts like a handbrake, letting you quickly "release power" from the kite. You can also hook it onto the end of the control bar to keep power continuously reduced while riding.
Color-coded canopy and lines make it easy to orient yourself quickly during launching or unpacking, and the black LE (leading edge) helps you steer the kite more easily in flight.
The Ranger packs down into a light, slim backpack designed for use on the water, with extra straps and a pocket where you can secure a deflated wing or a second parawing. The backpack is designed so you can hold one Ranger in your hand (4 m²) and carry two more (3 m² and 5 m²) in the bag, letting you switch sizes depending on conditions and riding style - without having to head back to shore. It's fitted to the body, allows for duck diving (diving under a wave), drains water quickly and has straps made from recycled polyester, matched to wetsuits and impact vests.
The parawing has already opened up new spots for downwind foiling, especially for riders who don't have strong paddling power but do have experience with wind or kites. Besides getting you up on the foil and then packing away, the Ranger can also be used as an emergency parachute for wing foiling or paddleboarding - at the start or end of a downwind session, to reach better conditions faster, for surfing waves without pumping or without a jet ski - especially at point-break spots with side wind. It can also be launched in places where there's no room to rig a wing or where kiting is banned.
For freestyle and freeride, the Ranger also works on land - with a Track-style skateboard, a mountainboard for riding dunes, as well as on ice skates, skis or a snowboard.

Technology:
-
D-Ribs
D-Ribs diagonally support the canopy, providing optimal load distribution while also allowing a reduction in the number of support lines needed. This keeps the canopy stable during depowering from the bar, while the parawing keeps a high level of responsiveness and reacts to gentle steering movements.
-
Depower Tab
An industry first - the Depower Tab acts like a handbrake, letting you quickly reduce the kite's power. The strap can also be hooked onto the end of the bar to keep power continuously limited while riding.
-
More riding, less line hassle
Color-coded canopy and support lines allow for faster visual orientation during launching or unwinding the lines. The black leading edge (LE) makes it easier to control the parawing's position in flight.
