Wing North Mode Pro 2026
2.9 - 3.5 - 4.2 - 4.8 - 5.5 - 6.5

Mode Pro 2026 is a new freeride wing from North that, thanks to a stiff, light N-Weave45 frame, UDi carbon reinforcement in the leading edge (LE) and an ergonomic strut shape, offers explosive acceleration, control in strong wind and impressive maneuverability

Note: A batch of units with slight discoloration, below are sample photos of what a wing with discoloration may look like; most of them have minor marks, usually in a single spot.
All units are new and under warranty!

Wing - Freeride / High Speed

Product description:

For riders looking for powerful freeride performance with more speed, strong pop and long hangtime, the Mode Pro - thanks to a stiff, light N-Weave45 frame and Matrix canopy - was designed to deliver power efficiently and provide the highest stability. For the 2026 season we refined the strut shape, panel layout and wingtip seam technology, and increased the stiffness of the XL-T joint. These changes, combined with the UDi carbon reinforcement in the leading edge (LE), translate into an even faster and more direct response. The Mode Pro has an ergonomically shaped strut with our ShiftLock mounting system in the form of a modular rail, allowing you to freely position the carbon ShiftLock handles, J-Handle or boom (handles sold separately).

Features:

  • Fast response thanks to UDi carbon reinforcement inside the leading edge (LE)

  • Carbon ShiftLock handles or boom (sold separately)

  • NEW ergonomic strut geometry reducing elbow strain

  • NEW improved True Form profile for fast acceleration and speed retention

  • NEW stiffer leading edge (LE) and XLT joint for efficient, direct power transfer

  • NEW slightly flatter wing dihedral for more lift and better upwind performance

  • NEW wingtip seam technology protecting against abrasion

  • A huge top-end range for full control in overpowered conditions

  • Active Twist at the wingtips for cleaner airflow and smoother riding

  • Improved Radiate Geometric panel layout and Load Diffuser for better load distribution

  • A compact outline and rounded wingtips reducing the risk of snagging

  • LiteVision windows positioned turn-friendly

  • Connected Hyperflow Dual-Inflation system for independent LE/strut inflation

  • A wing bag made from recycled polyester, expandable to fit a ShiftLock boom

Materials:

  • A light, stiff N-Weave45 frame with high tensile strength

  • Matrix canopy for maximum durability and shape retention

  • Fast response thanks to UDi carbon reinforcement along the entire leading edge (LE)

Technology:

  • N-Weave 45 Airframe

The N-Weave 45 Airframe is a reinforced construction made from N-Weave 45 material, providing a stiffer and lighter set that holds its shape under load while still delivering power very efficiently. A biaxial laminate layer at a 45-degree angle helps control the construction's torsional stiffness. N-Weave45, developed by North, is a low-stretch, high-tensile-strength fiber that reduces geometric compromises in inflatable structures. This lets the material reduce structural deformation, converting wind energy into more speed, explosive power and hangtime, which is ideal for freestyle. The weight savings translate into better performance, more efficient power delivery in light wind and easier handling of the wing in varying conditions. N-Weave45 is also characterized by very high resistance to cuts and abrasion. The UPE fibers used in N-Weave45 are known for their resistance to water, moisture, most chemicals, UV radiation and microorganisms, as well as their durability and strength.
  • Matrix High-Load N-HTRS Canopy

A strong, low-stretch canopy material designed to withstand the increased loads resulting from the use of the stiff N-Weave45 frame, providing long-lasting shape retention and exceptional durability.

  • ShiftLock Modular Track Mounting System

The stiff ShiftLock carbon mast tube or handles (sold separately) respond instantly to your commands, while the soft TPU handle tips help protect you and your board.

Four handle lengths are available: a single 1100 mm tube and 500, 400 and 250 mm handles. ShiftLock is a novel take on the Bolt Rope system used in sailing - the most popular and most durable method of attaching a sail to a mast. We adapted this system to wing foiling, using a dual-track Bolt Rope.

To prove the system's strength and durability, we ran load tests and on-water testing for two years with no failures or excessive wear. ShiftLock has a breaking strength of over 710 kg. We also managed to keep the system lightweight. Two 500 mm ShiftLock Carbon handles (with tracks) are lighter than two standard 500 mm wing handles.
  • True Form Profile

A reduced nose radius on the wing's profile improves speed and wind range, and a special filler panel helps maintain a stable shape under load.

  • A Gentler Dihedral

A lower dihedral angle provides more drive, greater stability and better control at higher wind speeds - the faster you fly, the more stable you feel.

  • Wingtip Seam Protection

The seams at the wingtips have been turned inward, effectively protecting them from abrasion and increasing durability.

  • Stiffer LE & XLT-Joint

A stronger leading-edge construction and a reinforced XL-T joint provide direct power transfer and resistance to deformation even in extreme conditions.

  • UDi Carbon Technology

A carbon reinforcement technology developed from North Sails' experience - thin, stiff tapes of UD fiber run along the entire leading edge, guaranteeing instant response and a better "snapback" effect

  • Ergonomic Strut Geometry

A segmented strut allows the wing to be held comfortably in a more relaxed position with two types of handles, reducing fatigue and strain on the elbows. Works best with the ShiftLock system and the J-Handle
