Starboard 2026 TWIN FIN SUP Board

Experience a board created for speed and freedom. The distinctive shape of the TwinFin model, with a clear pinch just behind the fins, provides dynamic, agile turns and a loose, skateboard-like riding character that lets you effortlessly carve deep and high turns on the rail.

An innovative channel tail profile increases acceleration and makes it easier for the back of the board to return to a stable position during radical slides, providing control on every wave. Whether you're facing small, weak waves or demanding overhead conditions, the TwinFin lets intermediate surfers push harder into their turns, while offering advanced riders a smooth ride at the highest level of performance.

COMPARISON WITH THE SPICE AND PRO MODELS

The TwinFin works best on smaller, weaker waves, letting intermediate surfers make more radical maneuvers with less technique required. The board keeps its dynamics along the whole length of the wave, easily generating speed and making it easy to quickly return to the starting position. Although it was created with small waves in mind, it also performs great in overhead conditions, allowing for powerful pumping off the bottom of the wave and quickly clearing sections.

Compared to the Spice and Pro models, the TwinFin is characterized by a looser feel and releases speed faster. The Pro model remains the uncompromising choice for the biggest, most critical conditions, providing maximum hold and control. The Spice, in turn, offers versatility thanks to the option of mounting fins in a quad (4) or thruster (3) setup, and its cut-away rails guarantee smooth rail-to-rail transitions and extra hold. The TwinFin complements this line but doesn't replace either of these models - it appeals to riders looking for free-flowing lines, full-speed arcs and tail-slide turns.

Versatility on waves of every size

Surprisingly stable on overhead waves - the Twin Fin board provides enough hold to pump off the bottom of the wave and pop off its crest. Perfect for intermediate surfers looking for easy speed or professionals wanting a stylish ride.

Maximum speed and flow

Enjoy blistering speed along the wave line thanks to reduced water drag and a refined tail channel. The Twin Fin lets you maintain flow even on weaker sections of the wave, making it easy to freely link maneuvers and maintain momentum.

Effortless turns and a looser feel

The looser, skateboard-like riding character makes sharp pivot turns and tail slides feel natural. The pinch in the outline and the crescent-shaped tail create a natural pivot point, providing instant direction changes and smooth transitions.

A distinct pinch and crescent tail

A subtle break in the outline just behind the fins narrows the tail, allowing for precise pivot turns, giving a feeling of freedom combined with full control during dynamic turns.

Channel Tail Release

Generates lift and extra speed while widening the optimal standing zone for both front-foot and back-foot dominant surfers. This helps with regaining balance and preparing for the next maneuvers.

Thin rails at the tail

Increase the board's reactivity and agility. Fuller rails at the nose make it easier to generate speed along the wave line, while the thinner nose reduces swing weight, allowing for faster rotations.

Domed or flatter decks

Smaller sizes have a domed deck for better board feel and thinner rails, while wider models have a flatter deck, which provides extra stability and comfort.

Twin Fin Setup

Two large fins minimize water drag, providing faster riding, solid hold and easy entry into a tail slide. You can add a small center fin for extra control and grip on bigger waves.

Central carry handles

Boards 8'3" and smaller use a smaller handle to better fit the compact board sizes and minimize the risk of standing on it while riding. Models 8'6" and larger use a bigger handle for a better grip and comfort when carrying larger boards. Both handle types have a double profile, allowing them to be comfortably held from either side.
