Continuing the completely redesigned concept from 2024, with an enlarged luff curve and reduced head geometry, the sail offers better flight control on the foil and a wider wind range. The WARP_FOIL extends our line of championship-winning PWA and IFCA slalom fin sails onto the foil, and is a specific, highly advanced foil construction built for foil racing competitors looking for a sail perfectly matched to a low-drag hydrofoil.
Compared to fin sailing, a foil generates about 70% less drag, which requires a completely different sail design, covering the profile, twist and geometric proportions, to match the characteristics of low-drag hydrofoils.
The 20.24 design was a milestone, as it significantly improved the wind range - and with it average speed - as well as top-end flight control, translating into higher top speed. This was achieved by markedly increasing the luff curve and reducing the head size, as well as shortening the boom length and using a massive, double mast sleeve as key construction elements. The WARP_FOIL 2024 concept proved to be exceptionally competitive, so we decided to develop it further in an improved version. Last year we updated the batten layout to a stiffer setup, with a slightly flatter entry profile, which improved control in stronger wind and increased top speed across all sizes.
For 2026 we're introducing a new mast sleeve construction across all sizes, which provides less sail movement, especially in the upper wind range, and consequently more stability, less drag and better acceleration. In our view the WARP_FOIL 20.26 redefines the benchmark for the relationship between control, performance and wind range, and is a sail designed for one purpose only: to win low-drag hydrofoil races. Note: for maximum performance the WARP_FOIL is fitted with four carbon tube battens, which are stiffer, but unfortunately also more brittle than glass tube battens, so they're not covered by warranty.
