X-Over
The X-Over sail has been designed to perform in all conditions, no matter what the day brings. Up to size 6.2, X-Over is a power wave sail with an incredibly low weight, allowing for maximum expression on the wave in all conditions. Power and stability make the sail ideal for jumping. 6.7 and 7.4 are free move sails, ideal for freeriding on flat water with stability, constant top speed, lightness in the hands, huge wind range and ease of sailing upwind. No seams, no joints. One-piece 3Di Moulded sails maximize durability. Revolutionary technology for windsurfing, brought to you exclusively by North Sails. Go Beyond.

Technical data:
Construction Profile <6.2
The X-Over has a longer luff compared to the Wave, for better performance and leech control, especially in side-on and onshore conditions. For better handling and a locked-in feel, the X-Over has a moderate profile, typical of a Power wave sail. 4 battens in 4.7 and smaller, 5 battens in 5.0 and larger. Maximum wind range, stability and response with fewer battens and less weight thanks to the 3Di Molded construction.
Construction Profile 6.7 & 7.4
The X-Over 6.7 & 7.4 sails have a moderate draft profile which gives a locked-in feel that allows for a quick start and high top speed. The 3Di construction gives the sail a wide wind range and stability with only 5 battens, meaning the sail is super light and easy to maneuver. The precise placement of materials in the 3Di gives the sail very good finesse, making upwind sailing a breeze. With the X-Over Freeride sail in sizes 6.7 and 7.4, conquering your local spot is very easy and intuitive.
3Di Molded Technology
The 3D molding of sails defines their shape. This means we can add an unlimited number of forms or twists to the sails without being limited by the batten layout. 3Di skins can seamlessly transition from thicker elements, to maintain tension and withstand impacts, to other areas of the sail that are thinner, lighter and softer. 3Di molding provides unlimited precision in sail making, unmatched in the world of windsurfing
Dyneema Aramid
The best sails are created using a carefully designed blend of the best materials. That's why 3Di sails are made from Dyneema Aramid. Dyneema is up to 15 times stronger than steel. It has very high energy absorption and very low stretch. It is extremely resistant to abrasion, moisture and UV. Aramid is what holds all the Dyneema fibers together. The end result is a composite sail that can be precisely 3D formed from a single piece without monofilm*. It is very strong and has a very direct feel. It translates wind into speed with a flick of the wrist.
Integrated Reinforcements
Dyneema Aramid composite is applied to the sail in the form of tapes that are cross-linked and thermoformed together into a one-piece composite sail.
These tapes can be placed in any orientation and can also be arranged into reinforced structures where required. This is done without the use of any panels or seams. At the end of the day, the sail transitions smoothly on a microscopic level. From a strong sail in the high-stress areas of the lower
and leech, to a lightweight sail at the top where the sail needs to breathe and twist. The precise use of the right amount of materials in the right arrangement results in a sail that is both 30% lighter and 3 times stronger than any other windsurf sail. Lightweight but super strong.
Integrated Batten Pockets
Between the layers of the sail we use a special material, machine-laid, to create a batten pocket. There are no seams, no joints, no seams. The material connects to the Dyneema Aramid fibers, but does not connect to each other. This gives the sail a 100% seamless and continuous fiber lay, a fully integrated tunnel with space for battens. Complex material technology with an intelligent result.
