"POWER SIDE"
The deepest part of the profile is located on the leeward side. It's measured as depth (how "thick" the sail is) and position (how far forward or back it's shifted). It's the profile that generates the sail's power and lift.

Draft is responsible for the sail's power and lift. The SLASH has a completely flat profile, designed to cut through the air with zero drag. Only a minimal hint of shape sits on the bottom batten - no need to tension it - just enough to lock in stability.
The real magic happens with precise mast rotation and the Dacron mast panel: they create depth only when it's needed, releasing raw acceleration and an explosive pop that lets you fly really high.
"SPEED SIDE"
The overall aerodynamic shape of the sail as seen in cross-section. It includes the windward side (flatter) and the leeward side (more curved). When we talk about "sail profile", we mean the overall curve created by the panels and battens.
