ThePoint-7 Spy is a multi-purpose, 5-batten freestyle-wave construction, designed to deliver massive power, control and a wide wind range, making it the ideal choice for bump & jump conditions as well as wave riding and basic freestyle maneuvers.
Wind - Bump & Jump / Wave / Freestyle / Freeride
Product description:
Spy is a power wave sail that knows no compromise and doesn't care who's watching.
Brutal, controlled power and razor-sharp precision. Every ounce of energy goes straight to the board. A shorter boom? Only we could make a sail deliver faster, harder hits of power. Light wind, gusts, riding at full speed - none of it matters. Spy doesn't adapt to conditions. It dominates them. This isn't balance. This is violence, perfectly refined.
Type: Wave / Bump & Jump / Freeride / Freestyle
Performance:
- "POWER SIDE"
The deepest part of the profile, located on the leeward side. Measured as depth (how "thick" the sail is) and position (how far forward or back the profile sits). The profile (draft) generates the sail's power/lift. The SPY has a fuller, more driving profile, designed to provide stability in every condition. A softer Dacron luff panel delivers steady, even pulling power to your hands, allowing for early planing and smooth, effortless acceleration.
The profile stays deeper below the boom, delivering balanced power to the board and fin, while narrowing higher up to create a lighter, more neutral feel, making the sail easier to handle through transitions and maneuvers. The result is confidence: an easy planing start, steady speed through gusts, and a sail that stays locked in but never feels heavy. This helps you build speed to hit the lip. Power, control, a huge wind range. -
"SPEED SIDE"
The overall aerodynamic shape of the sail as seen in cross-section. It includes the windward side (flatter) and the leeward side (more curved). When we talk about "sail profile", we mean the overall curve created by the panels and battens.
The SPY keeps a more rounded, forgiving profile than a typical wave sail, locking in stable power between the board and the rider. Draft sits low and central, transferred directly to your hands and harness, providing balance and effortless comfort. This stable profile keeps the sail light in your hands while staying full of acceleration, carrying you smoothly through holes and gusts.
The feel is simple: steady draft, smooth control and the confidence to sail longer, faster and in full comfort.
