Moto
_PREMIUM FREERIDE
Moto is a combination of two sails into one that pushes the boundaries of performance.Combining the speed and stability of Overdrive with the lightness of Turbo, Moto simplifies all aspects of freeriding. One sail for all.
High-tension canvas combined with a two-cam/seven-batten frame provide enough structural rigidity for Moto to match the speed of a slalom sail. A shorter boom is paired with a deeper profile and race-tuned luff to increase thrust, reduce drag and balance load in the rear of the sail.
Featuring a tapered mast pocket, Moto is significantly
lighter than a slalom sail. This makes tacking and waterstarting easier. Every design detail has been evaluated and executed to maximize lightness and efficiency. Sail all day long. The Moto is a direct descendant of the Mach6 slalom sail and uses the XR concept: Xtended Range for each sail size allows for greater variation between sails in your sail set. Choose your favorite sail, then go up or down a size to expand your wind range.
Rig the Moto on an RDM mast and Enigma 160 boom for the best results. Three mast lengths cover the entire Moto range. All sizes can be mounted on a single Enigma 160 boom. Unparalleled simplicity.

Simplicity:
/ All sizes are rigged on RDM masts,
/ All sizes are rigged on 3 mast lengths,
/ All sizes can be rigged on one boom length 160/210
Yes, you can. Moto comes standard with RDM cams but can easily be swapped for SDM cams to rig Moto on SDM masts.
Can I swap my Overdrive for a Moto or should I switch to a race sail?
Moto provides the same performance as Overdrive with easier handling and a wider range. If you are used to sailing Overdrive, Moto is a safe choice for you.
How many cams does Moto have?
Moto is equipped with two cams. Both are located on the lower battens, under the boom.
What is the purpose of the tapered mast pocket?
The tapered mast pocket contributes to the Moto's lightness. It becomes more enjoyable to sail and easier to start from the water because there is less water filling the mast pocket.
How much should I choose for the Moto by the mast?
The Moto has very few configuration options. Use the recommended downhaul and outhaul settings, then adjust them to your own needs. Many people choose to use the recommended downhaul settings and adjust the outhaul settings to suit the conditions.
The Moto has two eyelets in the clew.
What is the difference between the Moto and the Mach 6?
The Mach 6 is a four-cam slalom sail.
Moto is a twin-cam freeride sail - more suitable for freeriders and freeracers.
Can I use Moto for foiling?
Moto was developed as a sail for cruising only with a fin. For foiling we recommend our foil sails: FoilGlide, FoilFreek, HyperGlide.
Which mast should I use for best performance?
We recommend SEVERNE RDM Red for all Moto sizes.
Why aren't my cams rotating properly?
If the cams aren't rotating properly it may mean that the sail is too loosely trimmed on the mast. Other possible problems could be using the wrong mast, too much batten tension, or not enough spacers.
