The Severne NCX 2026 is a high-performance slalom no-cam sail that combines concepts from race sails (maximum speed, power and stability) with easy handling and a wide wind range, without using cambers.

Windsurfing - Freeride / Freerace

Product description:

DESIGNED FOR PERFORMANCE, THE NCX STILL SETS THE STANDARD IN THE CAMBERLESS SLALOM SAIL CATEGORY.

A direct descendant of the Mach race sail program, the NCX combines design solutions that maximize speed, power and stability with the ease of use typical of camberless sails:

/ XR (Xtended Range) increases the wind range at both the low and high end of the scale: deeper, more powerful profiles are stabilized by increased skin tension, which improves control and stability.
/ An open loose leech. Turning characteristics taken directly from the latest World Cup designs.
/ Geometry. A longer boom provides more back-hand pressure and instant acceleration on demand.

WHO THIS SAIL IS FOR...
For those who want performance WITHOUT cambers. Maximum speed and stability are your main priorities.

THE TECHNOLOGIES YOU GET

/ D6 Dacron luff panels - a stronger construction and greater flexibility for faster filling, better profile retention and a quieter sail.
/ SpiderFibre reinforcements.
/ Precision manufacturing.
/ Gradient Panel Technology - lower weight, greater stability and a longer lifespan.

Questions for us:

  • How many cambers does the NCX have?
    The NCX has no cambers.
  • What mast should I use with the NCX?
RDM RED - for maximum performance.
RDM BLUE - high performance and increased reliability.

  • Can I rig the NCX on an SDM mast?
Yes, all NCX sizes can also be rigged on SDM masts.
  • Can I use a mast from a brand other than Severne with the NCX?
All our development, testing, tuning and setup are done using Severne masts. We strongly recommend using SEVERNE masts. Our masts are designed to a specific Severne curve, which is one of the pillars of how our rigs work.

We don't test the performance or bend curves of other manufacturers' masts, so we can't guarantee the sail's parameters or durability when used with a mast from another brand.

We describe our mast's curve as the Severne curve. Descriptions such as constant, hard top or flex top used by mast manufacturers are based on measurements at 3 points. We measure our masts at at least 7 points.

  • What boom should I use with the NCX?
The Enigma 160 fits NCX sizes from 5.0 to 7.6 and provides the maximum freeride experience.
The NCX 8.2 works best with the Enigma 170 boom.

  • What's the difference between the NCX and the MOTO?
    The NCX has no cambers.
The NCX gives a less "locked-in" feel in the profile.

  • What's the difference between the NCX and the Gator?
The NCX is faster and more stable in strong wind.
The NCX gives a more "locked-in" feel.
The NCX has a more responsive, high-performance-oriented construction.
