The Simmer Style Blacktip Team Carbon 2026 sail is a light, high-performance wave machine with carbon scrim technology, offering instant response, a huge wind range and immediate control - the ideal choice for aggressive wave riding.
Wind - Wave / Bump & Jump
Product description:
The all-new Blacktip Team Carbon will take your wave sailing to a higher level - just as it did for the current World Cup leader, Marc Paré. Built using our new, ultra-technical carbon fiber laminate (carbon fiber scrim), in which the fibers are precisely aligned along the sail's load paths, it provides instant power transfer and maximum control. The result: instant response, a huge wind range and effortless handling - pure performance with no compromise.
The new carbon fiber material let us completely redesign the panel layout, reinforcements and luff curve. Traditional dacron inserts have been replaced with welded carbon fiber reinforcements, which provide optimal load distribution across the whole sail, maximizing active surface area and overall performance.
The Team Carbon model also introduces a range of advanced technical solutions. The clew section has been completely redesigned - overlapping panels, where the carbon fibers cross at different angles, create a stronger construction and improve force distribution in the main panel. On top of that, carbon scrim batten pockets have been used, which significantly increases control over the sail and the stability of its profile.
This project has been Marc Paré's passion since his return to the Simmer Style team in 2024. It's one of the most advanced R&D undertakings in the brand's history. Our goal was to make use of the unique properties of top-quality materials to create the most efficient and lightest wave sail ever built by Simmer Style - engineered to meet Marc's needs on his path to the Wave World Championship title.
Key features:
Instant response and control - the carbon fibers are precisely aligned along the load paths, so forces are distributed without delay, providing maximum efficiency in key maneuvers.
A huge wind range - the Team Carbon construction has been optimized for maximum performance in both light and strong wind, giving you full control across a wide range of conditions without losing power at the low end.
Effortless - pure performance - light, balanced and maneuverable, while also providing instant response and an explosion of power the moment you commit.
Type: Wave / Bump & Jump
Technology:
A panel layout designed for absolute load matching
Form follows function - every panel and reinforcement in the sail's construction was strategically positioned to match its specific load paths, across all sizes. The benefits of this approach are significant:
-
Instant response and control - the carbon fibers are precisely aligned along the load paths, so forces are distributed instantly, providing maximum efficiency in key maneuvers.
-
A huge wind range - the Team Carbon model was designed for maximum performance in both light and strong wind, offering full control across a wide range of conditions without losing power at the low end.
-
Effortless - pure performance - light, perfectly balanced and remarkably maneuverable, providing instant response and a dynamic snap the moment you fully commit
Carbon Scrim (carbon fiber in the sail's structure)
The new carbon scrim material enabled a complete redesign of the panel layout, reinforcements and luff curve. Thanks to carbon fibers aligned along the load lines, the sail distributes forces efficiently, becoming more reactive, maneuverable and light through maneuvers. Energy transfers instantly, providing a precise and direct response when sheeting in or pumping the sail. Additional stretch-controlling reinforcements are no longer needed, because every single carbon fiber acts as a tendon that spreads loads across the sail's surface. Despite its light weight, carbon scrim is remarkably durable, keeping its performance and working characteristics for a long time - for faster, more responsive sailing
A durable foot panel
The bottom panel, made from 5-mil X-Ply, has been reinforced with a Carbon Scrim patch along the loose leech, which increases its durability and creates a sort of carbon fiber "tendon" that effectively spreads loads in this highly stressed area. For maximum durability these reinforcements are welded, so they need no seams - creating an exceptionally strong and durable joint.
Layered panels in the lower section of the sail for extreme load resistance
Gradient Panels in the clew and foot panel area use overlapping layers of material, which reduces the need for extra reinforcements while more efficiently transferring loads to the sail's body, reducing its stretch over time. Split luff panels radiating out from the head and tack corners are perfectly matched to the direction of the forces, eliminating unwanted diagonal stretch, increasing power transfer and construction durability. The result is a lighter, more responsive and more stable sail.
