Armstrong X-Wing Performance
The Armstrong X-Wing Performance is the most advanced wing in the Armstrong lineup, built for riders who expect maximum speed, performance and control. Thanks to a new high-aspect geometry, an ultralight construction and an innovative panel layout, the X-Wing delivers smooth power generation, excellent glide and remarkably stable handling across the entire wind range.
Characteristics
The new, higher-aspect geometry (High Aspect Airframe) lets you build speed more effectively and make better use of apparent wind. The wing accelerates faster, rides upwind more easily and stays highly stable even at very high speeds.
The construction is made from ULTRA-PE X-PLY Advanced Laminate Composite, characterized by very low stretch, high stiffness and low weight. A reduced leading-edge diameter further lowers the wing's weight and improves its response to the rider's movements.
The new Dual-Tech Canopy panel layout (XPS Layout) effectively distributes the forces acting on the canopy, maintaining optimal material tension. The result is smoother power delivery, greater stability and very precise handling even in strong wind.
The wing uses the new Dyna-Link Boom system, which allows the carbon boom to be mounted quickly without tools. The connection is exceptionally stiff and eliminates play while riding, providing a very direct feel for the wing. The boom is sold separately.
Compared to the A-Wing XPS Mk II, the X-Wing Performance model offers higher speed, better glide and a more sporty character. It's built primarily for riders who prefer dynamic riding and want to make the most of modern gear's performance.
