Why different diameters of adhesive bases?

There are several ways to replace valves, depending on the problem and type of valve. The valve may delaminate or come off easily, or it may need to be partially or completely cut out. These different sizes of adhesive bases are the result of our team's numerous valve replacements - they are ideal and tailored to the job. We have created adhesive bases in different diameters to suit different repair methods:

• Standard Diameter 78mm – this size is used for standard One Pump valves that are easy to peel off or have already delamination and the area around the valve is not damaged. This is the simplest and quickest solution for valve replacement.

• XL Diameter 120mm – if your One Pump valve is not easy to peel off from the bladder and/or the area around the valve is damaged, this base is the right choice. Used for both One Pump valves and larger ones, such as new In/Out valves - when they have delamination or can be easily peeled off.

• Mega Square 150 mm - is the largest self-adhesive base for valves on the market. It is used only for large In/Out valves that cannot be easily peeled off or when the area around them is damaged and needs to be cut out. This size is not recommended for repairing One Pump valves, as too large a base can cause problems with gluing.

We only use Tear Aid Type A adhesive tape, the strongest and most durable adhesive on the market. The bases are die cut in place and all valves are welded to the base rather than glued. Welding is the most effective way to attach valves to the adhesive base as it bonds the materials together to create a perfect bond. If the base is properly attached to the bladder it will create a very strong bond that will outlast the kite, wing or inflatable tent itself.
