Thanks to the design collaboration between Damien Girardin and Ralf Groesel, the SUPERMODEL 2025 has undergone significant changes in shape, line system and construction technology to provide the best performance in the all-round kite segment. It is easier and more intuitive to ride than ever before, thanks to a lighter bar pressure and faster response. The lighter feel makes the kite easier to control in strong winds, opening up new possibilities for jumps. The new pulleyless line system has been tuned to propel you even further into the air, providing effortless hang time, while also allowing the kite to be more effectively depowered throughout its range for greater control. New trailing edge reinforcements reduce drag during turns, while the combination of weight savings and HTF3 technology means the SUPERMODEL 2025 loops much faster. The power and grip are so smooth and predictable that both novices in loops and advanced riders doing technical kiteloop variations will feel more confident and motivated to improve their skills.

For those unfamiliar with the SUPERMODEL, how would you describe the kite?

SUPERMODEL is designed to become an extension of your body. No matter what board you ride, what conditions you ride in, or what level of skill you are at, the SUPERMODEL CAN TAKE IT ALL. We've tested it in literally every possible environment and discipline for years, honing it to a point where it's so versatile and intuitive that it works for everyone.

So how could it be improved?

The biggest change this year is that I started working with Ralf on HYPERMODEL. Last year I thought the kite had already reached its peak, but the capabilities we developed together with the HYPER have been implemented in this year's SUPERMODEL, significantly increasing its performance and ease of use.

What will be the most noticeable of these changes?

One ​​of the things people will notice right away is that the kite has become much smoother, more comfortable, and therefore easier to handle. The increased de-power on the stick movement makes it easier to control and also allows for better edge hold just before the jump, which improves the whole riding experience.

What is the main reason for these changes?

One ​​of the key reasons is the switch to a pulleyless line system (fixed line system). We changed the entire line geometry and moved the attachment point, which makes it easier for the kite to gain speed quickly. Another factor is the addition of fiberglass-reinforced ribs in the rear edge. This reduces vibrations and significantly improves the smoothness of the transition through turns, which makes the grip after the kiteloop much better than before.

Great! What other changes have been made?

We have also increased the amount of FLEXLITE material in the Leading Edge, which is made possible by the updated line system. The lines now hold the shape of the kite better, which allows the FLEXLITE material to be placed higher up the segment, providing more turn and better control of the kite. This makes the SUPERMODEL 2025 more solid and more responsive to stick movements.

The SUPERMODEL 2025 also feels lighter on the stick, right?

Yes, that's true. There are a few factors that contribute to this. One is that the fixed line system gives the kite a lighter and more direct feel. We've also moved the pigtail connections back 2 cm, which gives you more leverage when steering. Less pressure on the stick also contributes to a smoother ride feel.
