Sail Patrick 2025 5 Wave

Description

The PATRIK 5Wave is our most versatile, super-performance 5-batten classic wave sail. Developed in Margaret River, Australia by Patrik Diethelm and 3D creator Fabio Canella, this sail is a great choice for crossover freestyle/wave, providing maximum control in big waves and strong winds. The key to the 5Wave's exceptional control and performance is its construction. The refined shape taken from our 4Wave power wave sail allows for maximum control at high speeds, high jumps and makes it easier to hook into top turns. By giving the luff a slightly larger curve than other modern wave sails, we have managed to increase the tension on the body of the sail, providing maximum control and pressure point of the sail, while reducing mast twist in unstable conditions.

Material:

The choice of material and where to use it was one of the key points in the development of our wave series. Rather than increasing the shape of individual panels (which leads to additional stress on the seams and reduces the range of use), we decided to play with the sail materials and carefully selected the appropriate thickness for each area. Going from "mast to clew", we used soft Dacron on the luff, then 2 MIL x/scrim-ply for the front/top section and 4 MIL x/scrim-ply for the bottom section. All panels along the luff
are made from a thicker layer of 5 MIL x/warp. This mixture helps the wind blow into the sail exactly where you need the power.

Compared to the 4-Wave, we have designed a larger area in the 5 MIL to improve the performance of our 5-batten wave sail in strong winds.
