3-CAM FREERACE SAIL COMBINING SLALOM PERFORMANCE AND HANDLING FREERIDE.

Description:
GT3-FRC is the little sister of our RaceSF slalom competition sail. Based on the concept and panels of our race-winning hybrid fin/foil racing sail, the GT3-FRC performs equally well on the fin or foil. Many improvements and modifications make this sail light and easy to handle. At the same time, the GT3 does not lose its racing DNA. Fabio Canella and Patrik Diethelm have given it a narrower mast pocket, while retaining the original RaceSF panels. The more flexible mast pocket material makes the sail livelier and more forgiving. The sail has been designed to work best with RDM masts, and an SDM camber kit will be available to modify the GT3 for SDM use. In the standard RDM configuration, the sail is lighter, faster
and handles much better in jib. With SDM, you gain a bit of extra low-end while losing some of the lightness.
Ride the TEST-WINNER!
With an impressive 57.5 out of 60 points, the GT3-FRC was the clear winner in the French Planchemag 2/3 camber freerace sail test May '23.
The GT3-FRCV scored maximum points for speed control, maneuverability, camber rotation and ease of use on the fin, while also winning best performance on the foil!
Material:
At first glance, this sail may seem to be just an "orange" version of our freeride sail. But it is not! The GT-3 FRC is the entry into PATRIK's well-known race division and we have selected the best materials accordingly.
Inside the pocket is a thick 7 MIL monofilm luff panel (the same as in our pure racing 4-cam sails) which provides the best in stiffness and a locked-in profile.
Then - moving towards the clew - we added a full set of 5 MIL x-ply vertical panels forward of the main body panels.
This "strip" helps smooth out and control the direct feel of the camber sails and adds a little extra strength in this highly stressed area.
The main panels are a solid and thick 5mm clear monofilm (which provides the best combination of weight and good shape stability) and a 4mm orange tinted monofilm in the upper section where we maximize lightness and UV resistance as it is not needed for see-through.
We use 5 MIL x-ply materials in the lower section and foot. It's a real win-win: it protects the most exposed area of the sail and keeps the rear edge of the sail stable and aerodynamically clean even in strong winds.
Trim:
With the true DNA of a competition slalom sail, the GT3 needs the same tension down the mast as a modern racing sail. Colored indicators on the batten pockets help you set the correct batten tension. Only with an open leech will the sail show its full potential.
