A complete wingfoil set prepared primarily for learning, easily getting up on the foil and fast progress. The combination of the very stable Starboard ASAP 140L board, the large and predictable AK Trek 1900 foil and the easy-to-handle Starboard Source 5.0 wing forms a configuration that lets a beginner focus on learning instead of fighting the equipment.

The set was put together to provide a lot of stability before the start, easy acceleration and early lift generation from the foil. It also includes an AK Staple 6'0" leash and a Mystic 2026 pump.

The Starboard Wingboard ASAP 140L

The Wingboard ASAP 140L is a large and stable board designed for people starting to learn wingfoiling.

Its high volume provides very good support during a kneeling and standing start. This gives the rider more time to prepare the wing, set their feet and start riding correctly.

140 liters also makes the board a suitable choice for heavier beginner riders who need a larger buoyancy margin.

The AK Trek V2 Alu 1900

The heart of the set is the AK Trek V2 Alu with a front wing surface area of 1900 cm2.

The Trek was designed as an easy-to-handle foil, offering smooth lift generation and high stability. The Trek series uses variable wing aspect ratios, so it combines ease of use with the ability to progress further.

The 1900 cm2 size provides a lot of lift at a relatively low speed. This is exactly why such a large wing fits very well into a set designed for learning - the rider doesn't need to reach a high speed to start flying.

The Trek 1900 - for what weight?

For wingfoiling, AK states a range of about 65-95 kg for the Trek 1900.

With a heavier rider, the foil can still be used for learning, but it will operate closer to the edge of its optimal characteristics. For a heavier rider, it's also worth considering a larger wing, if the manufacturer of a given system offers that option.

The Starboard Source 5.0

The Starboard Source 5.0 is a wing designed primarily for easy learning and progression.

Its very low Aspect Ratio, deep profile and increased dihedral provide smooth power generation and intuitive behavior. The construction was developed to make starts easier and to let the rider gradually gain further skills.

The 5.0 m2 size is also very versatile - it lets you use the wing in moderate wind without needing to reach for a very large size.

An important advantage of the Source is its compact geometry. The wing doesn't feel large and hard to control, which is especially important during first attempts at turns and learning to handle the wing.

How does this set behave on the water?

This is a configuration clearly focused on ease of use and predictability.
