80% PRE-PREG CARBON

SX8 has a high carbon content for a quick response. Utilizing the same high-performance design and flex profile as the SX10. The SX8 offers high performance with added durability, making it the best compromise between performance and durability.

SX8 stands for 80% carbon. They are designed with high-quality pre-preg carbon. This technology provides optimal control of resin content and distribution throughout the laminate. The carbon fiber structure features internal layers of a 45-degree carbon weave that control torsion and quick response. The outer carbon layer is oriented 90 degrees for the highest possible strength.

The SX8 mast features a CC bend profile. The base is stiffer than the top. This provides optimal sail dynamics, allowing the bottom of the sail to generate power and the top of the rig to release it quickly. The SDM and RDM bend profiles are compatible with each other, but RDMs are more robust and therefore more suitable for arduous wave conditions. SDMs provide faster response, better stability and faster acceleration, making them more suitable for flat water sailing.

Simmer's wave sails were developed on the SX8 RDM and this is the mast we recommend for that reason. The SX8 SDM is the recommended mast for the VMax and 2XC Sails and SC Slalom.
