FUTURA IN DETAIL

The Futura concept builds on the iSonic DNA, utilizing a fast, moderately narrow, compact shape; perfect for long-distance cruising or drag racing at the local beach. The width provides wind range and efficiency. Strong but smooth rails provide power and increased fin control. A thinner profile at the mast rail lowers the center of gravity and increases control. Optimized positioning for longer, faster runs.
All Futura boards are designed with a double concave, flowing into a flat tail for comfort, control and efficiency. Everything where it matters. The Futura allows you to increase performance in a more comfortable, accessible and user-friendly package. Save your energy for the fun of cruising, rather than fighting the board. Used Double Step Cutaways for reduced friction and increased speed.

Bottom Shape

Futuras have a more pronounced Vee across the bottom for better control and comfort when chop,
smooth tails and a more lively driving.

Thin Sides

The sides are rounder and thinner than the sides on the iSonic.
Easier to control on the chop. They make turns smoother.

Drake Slalom DW

Every Futura comes with a Drake Slalom DW fin. These top-of-the-range, Ready to Race fins.
They bring out the best in the Futura. The Slalom DW combines impressive speed and acceleration with excellent
jibing capabilities.

Drake slick footstraps

Drake Slick footstraps are made from FSC certified, sustainably sourced and plant-based
Yulex foam. With 85% natural rubber, CO² emissions during the manufacturing process are reduced by 80%.
The remaining 15% synthetic neoprene is retained for increased UV resistance. Carefully
sourced with the smoothest fabric for a comfortable feel.

Lightweight Pads

The Futuras feature 6mm thick pads in the back and 4mm in the front. This combination provides a highly
reactive and comfortable feel while minimizing weight. Thermoformed diamond groove pattern
provides grip and comfort for long sessions while resisting wear.

feel of the original Starboard. It's time to bring back this technology while reducing our CO2 footprint.
Sandwich lamination of 0.6mm Australian pine over modern, recyclable 3mm PET foam provides
durability and comfort with a good strength to weight ratio. Today's wood is less visible in modern graphics;
protected from UV radiation by fresh blue paint and decals that complement the natural grain for a
really nice effect. A classic reissue of the classic Starboard Original.
