The Rio board provides an exciting and liberating riding experience on a contoured deck, where cutaways maximize the pleasure of riding the board. The wider nose, long cutouts, optimized profile and efficient rocker line improve the ride with more glide, stability, grip and ease of planing.

Contoured deck shape

The Rio's contoured deck shape makes it the easiest windsurfing board in the world to step into the footstraps.
As they progress and move backwards on the board, gaining more speed and power in the sail, their feet naturally
fall into the inside footstrap position.

Unique long tail design

Thanks to the extra surface area behind the fin, Rio boards not only start to plan sooner, but also stay stable
while you're getting there. There's no need to struggle with the difficult technique of getting over the first hump. This unique feature
allows riders to effortlessly and magically achieve planing without an intense learning curve. The board accelerates and rushes forward,
naturally placing the rider in the perfect cruising position.

Bat wings

The wider tail section, known as Bat Wings, provides better planing, directional traction and parallel lines.
This feature, first introduced in the Phantom, also improves gliding performance.

Eva foam deck

Rio features large, soft EVA foam for comfort and safety. Enjoy a firm grip without worrying about
cuts or abrasions. The bow area, where the boom tends to drag, is free of EVA foam.
Rio boards have multiple footstrap mounting positions to suit all levels of riders, from beginners to intermediate and advanced riders. They also feature the latest generation of Drake straps,
with size indicator tabs for easy adjustment.

Shallow 41

The Rio features the Drake Shallow fin, which provides optimal power and directional grip
in a compact design. This finish is perfect for learning and progression.

Rhino Technology
AS DURABLE AS POSSIBLE

Rio windsurf boards are built with Rhino construction with one mission in mind: to be as durable as possible
for schools and sports centers. The entire board is wrapped in thick, durable thermoplastic ABS polymer (not to be confused with ASA),
with double wrapping around the sides.
