To ensure that your WOO device works optimally, here are some tips to help extend the life of the sensor. Please note that in order to be able to provide warranty for any defective devices, the normal maintenance instructions must always be followed. WOO is, after all, an electronic component that is exposed to very harsh conditions, such as abrasive sand, corrosive salt water, and harsh sunlight.

Risk of voiding your warranty

Failure to follow normal care instructions can lead to corrosion of the contacts, which will void the warranty for your WOO device. Please charge your WOO frequently to avoid deep discharge due to inactivity.

1. Remove the WOO from the holder immediately after a session

Applicable to all versions of WOO.

2. After use, rinse your WOO with fresh water and dry it

Valid for WOO versions 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0

As soon as possible, rinse your WOO with a little fresh water and dry it with a towel or cloth. Allow it to air dry until no residual moisture remains before charging your WOO for the next session.

3. Rinse / dry your WOO mount

Applicable to the WOO 3.0 mount for frequent travelers

Particularly if you are using the WOO 3.0 mount (transparent "GoPro" style housing), rinse it with fresh water after each session, rinse off the sand, and allow it to dry completely before using it again.

4. Charge Often

Valid for WOO versions 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0

WOO, like any other battery-powered device, doesn't like to be left uncharged for long periods of time. If you give your WOO a little love by charging it every month, its battery will last longer. Leaving the battery discharged for long periods of time will significantly reduce battery performance.

5. Store at room temperature

Valid for all WOO versions.

If you're not using it for a long time, store your WOO at room temperature. Always fully charge your WOO before storing it.

6. Don't leave your WOO on the charger

Valid for all WOO versions.

WOO uses a LiPo (Lithium Polymer) battery. Leaving your device on the charger after it is fully charged will negatively affect battery performance. Always remove your WOO from the charger when it is fully charged.

7. Always perform firmware updates when available

New firmware versions are released frequently. They improve the stability and reliability of your WOO device and ensure that it lasts as long as possible. Always perform firmware updates when available. If your device has an outdated firmware version, a pop-up will appear on the My WOO screen when you connect your device.

8. Avoid using sunscreen on your WOO

Applicable to all versions of WOO.

Sunscreens contain chemicals that may be harmful to plastics. Avoid using sunscreen on WOO as it can discolour and damage the materials. If you accidentally get it on WOO, be sure to wash and rinse it thoroughly.
