CLASS X-15. ONE-DESIGN WING FOIL RACING DISCIPLINE - WHY?

There are many popular "One-Design" classes in both sailing and windsurfing. But until now there has been no wingfoil class. So here it is. Together, Starboard and FreeWing have risen to the occasion to introduce a new Wing category racing class.
But why one-design racing? Well, it's a lot more fun when everyone is in the same "race car"! One-design racing is popular mainly because the uniform equipment inherently introduces an element of fairness. This means there are no decisions to be made and no guesswork. In addition, the equipment stays the same over time, so it doesn't need to be updated every year - avoiding the criticized "pay-to-win" or "pay-to-play" aspects of traditionally resource-driven sports like sailing, where expensive, more advanced equipment provides a huge advantage to those who wield it.

AERODYNAMICS

60% less drag than previous racing boards, which translates into more speed and better stability during flight.
The rounded deck profile reduces lift and increases control, allowing for precise maneuvering.
The extended tail provides extra balance before take-off and minimizes drag in the air.

WIND RANGE
Purpose-built to provide a wide wind range, the X-15 is the board of choice in any wind range. Only one size is available because we believe this is the best size for intermediate to advanced riders, in almost all wind conditions.

HYDRODYNAMICS
Progressive tuck line and tail kick construction, resembling a droplet shape.

TOUCHDOWNS
The X-15 is designed with a large Vee nose with a rocker. This shape was designed and tested in high wind conditions, allowing full-speed touchdown without any effects.

FOOTSTRAP POSITION
The footstraps are tuned for maximum control during high-speed racing and offer a wide range of settings. Thanks to it, you can set the appropriate position for the foil position.

TUTTLE BOX
To ensure the best possible connection to the foil, the tuttle box brings the foil millimeters closer to the feet than a traditional mount, which guarantees the best control at high speeds.

NEW DECK
A light concave where we stand provides the rider with the most precise positioning and connection to the foil. Lined with soft yet scratch-resistant EVA foam for racing Built to be aerodynamically efficient while providing the most natural feel at high speeds.

NEW SOCK COVER
